The CRS score distribution of candidates in the pool is current as of October 12, 2026.
Why the CRS cut-off is 772
A provincial nomination adds 600 points to a candidate's profile score. This PNP-specific round invited only candidates who already held a nomination from a province or territory.
The cut-off score of 772 reflects those 600 additional points added to a candidate's base score. Applicants did not need an original base score of 772 to qualify.
How PNP rounds work
Express Entry manages three round types: general rounds, program-specific rounds, and category-based rounds. This draw was a program-specific round restricted to PNP-eligible candidates.
Candidates enter this stream by receiving a provincial or territorial nomination first. Once they accept that nomination in their Express Entry profile, they receive 600 CRS points.
What the tie-breaking rule means
Multiple candidates can hold the lowest invited score of 772. When this happens, profile submission time determines who receives an invitation.
Candidates with a CRS score of 772 who submitted their profile before July 15, 2026 at 13:57:33 received invitations. Candidates who submitted after that timestamp did not.
What happens next for invited candidates
The 752 invited candidates received an Invitation to Apply. They now have a limited window to submit a complete permanent residence application.
Candidates who did not receive an invitation remain in the pool for future rounds.
What This Data Tells Us
The 772 reverses the direction PNP rounds had been moving. After 697 in August and 725 in September, a 47-point jump in two weeks reflects which nominations reached the pool, not any change in federal standards.
Round size did not drive it. At 752 invitations this round was slightly larger than September 28’s 733, so a bigger draw landing at a higher score means the provinces nominated candidates carrying stronger base scores this cycle.
Read with the 600 nomination points removed, the number describes a base score near 172. That is still well below what any CEC round required this year, which is why PNP cut-offs cannot be compared against them.
The tie-breaking timestamp of July 15, 2026 is the longest gap in recent PNP rounds. Candidates at exactly 772 needed a profile three months old, which points to a crowded band at that score.
For candidates without a nomination, the swing from 697 to 772 across three rounds makes the same point each time. The number tracks provincial supply, and no amount of effort in the general pool influences it.
